2013 in review

Happy New Year everyone!!! It's been a GREAT year!!! 134 fly rods sold and I don't know how many blanks!!! I've sold all over the world but I've added many new places this year. Ukraine, Germany,  Cez Republic, Chile and many more. I'm thrown back every time I see a new country!! It's a honer to build them for you!!! I've met so many great people that it overwhelms me. Thank you for your emails and pictures and kind words. Keep the pictures coming!! I Thank God for giving me this great hobby and all my new friends around the world!!!!

Now for the year end. I've reviewed my costs for the components and blanks for my rods and there will be a price increase. For my existing customers I will honer my 2013 pricing for one year.(2014). My prices are still really good for a custom rod and they are really great rods to fish with also but I just can't build them and not make a profit. Thanks and I hope you understand. Thank you!!!!!   
 

Hello!! I know it's been a while but here I am back. I've been selling rods and kits like crazy!!! 115 rods so far this year!! I finely got my great little reels in. I'm not carrying the little TFO reels now. These are much better and quiet and SMOOTH!! 6 roller ball bearings and sealed drag! Doesn't get much better than this one!! It weight is about 2.5 oz!! 2 5/8" across. LOVE IT!!!! I call it RDP1. You will love it!!

Good morning world!!! It's a beautiful morning here in Chesapeake MO. I sat out on the front porch in the swing and soaked it all in!!  God is all around me!! I just have to open up my eyes and soul and realize he just loves me!!!!

I've had the best and busiest years so far!! I've sold over 60 rods so far this year! Thank you everyone for being patient and kind to me. I've struggled to get orders filled but getting there. I've been shipping rods all over the world again! Brazil, Italy, Europe, Japan and Australia!! It's so much fun to email back and forth with you all!!!

I got tired of my thread being scattered all over the place and built a rack last night. I didn't think big enough. I might have to build another one.

Thank you everyone and Thank you Lord for everything you have blessed me with. Even my problems bring blessings if you learn from them they will make you stronger and see God clearer!!!

Hello everyone!! 2012 was another great year!! Lot's of RDPflyrods hitting the waters around this world. I can't think of any better hobby in the world that building fly rods!! My blanks have been selling really well and (knock on wood) I've not had any problems with the blanks breaking at all. I've been blessed with a great manufacture that cares about quality products!! The 0wts are selling well already and what a great blank it is! I would like to thank everyone of my new friends for trusting me with building them a fly rod. I'll never forget the trust and friendship that everyone has shown me. I'm really looking forward to 2013!!! I've had a few rods that took me a while to ship and I'll try and do better this year. My three girls have been really active this year in school and they will always come first so if I'm late shipping please forgive me. Someday Lord willing I would love to make building fly rods my full time job/fun. Thank you all!!!

0wt 0wt!!!!!! They are here!!

By popular demand the 0wt is here!!!! It's a great addition to the line up!!! I'm going to make a limited edition of the 0wts. They will be great and something special!! They will have 5500 year old Bog Oak from Russia. I still can't get my mind around the age. The wood has been carbon dated to make sure of the age. I'm only going to make 10 of them. They will be more expensive. $300. Email me if you want one. I'm also adding a size. 5'8" 3pc. You can pick from 5 weights from 0wt to 4wt. I'm calling them the "Twig" Perfect for the mountain streams!!

I've had a really great year. I've made about 85 custom rods. Thank you all!!! I'm ready for another great year!!

Wild Rod!!

I got an order for a rod a while back and he said make it wild!! So I did!! Here it is!!! I'm about caught up right now and I have a lot of people interested so lets light it up!!!

Great Feb

Well this month has been really great. Right now I've got 14 rods to build!! I'm on it!!! I got a great email from a friend in England yesterday. He went Bonefishing with one of my 1wts and had a blast!! Here are a couple picks of Mike and his fish. I've already had one of his friends send me a request for a rod. Wow Mike!! He was in the Seyehelles Islands off the coast of Africa.

I'm going to be a busy guy for a while getting caught up and I hope I don't get caught up!! I've had a lot of really nice emails about my rods and my service. I'm a lucky guy!! Thank you everyone for your orders!! I've still been thinking about the Owt rod. I don't know yet if I'm going to do it. Tight lines everyone!!
